Friends of UCI Rowing is currently working with a CPA and the IRS to resolve a clerical error that occurred on our tax filings in 2015 and has carried over inadvertently the subsequent tax years. The IRS did not notify Friends of UCI Rowing of the issue, and we were only made aware of it when our federal tax exempt status went into “auto-revocation” because it hadn’t been corrected for three years. Below is a letter from our CPA office explaining the issue in detail and the steps we have taken to resolve it with the IRS.
