Here is a video of the boys training the week before final exams, putting their brand new boat, Budge II, to good use (you can see some of the seat dedications along the side… thank you, loyal alumni!).
The student-athletes are now on break competing in a winter meters competition designed by coach Brooks. The team looks to enhance their aerobic fitness over the next 3 weeks before returning to campus to begin the Winter Quarter of academics.
Budge II – The Friends of UCI Rowing was able to purchase a new Filippi 8+ racing shell off lease from the World Championships due to the hard and diligent work of our
Board of Directors, and generous donations from Don Burns, Rick Farrell, Boris Buzan, Rollin Buchanan, Patrick Skelly, Peter Jung, Michael Glassey, Tom Tischer, Rob Walker, Steve Berry, Forbes Morse, Nick Berkuta, Christer Fiege-Kollman, George Basile, Greg Rose, Chris Romberg, Powell Thurston, Mike Burke, Patrick Dibb, Katy Basile, Michael Fero, Bruce Ibbetson, Duvall Hecht, David Heimerl, Curt Flemming, Brian Frank & finally Budge Collins. These donations will allow strong, dedicated oarsman to have the best equipment for years to come.
