This was a special fundraiser to help the team match a $10,000 donation challenge to purchase a new boat for the 2017/18 season.
We are pleased to announce that we exceeded our goal to match Budge Collins’ $10,000 pledge. We have therefore secured the funds we needed to acquire the new racing shell!
We had enthusiastic responses to our seat sales, finding names for all 9 seats in the boat! We will follow up later once the “Budge Collins II” has been brought to its new home on Shellmaker Island with photos of the seat inscriptions.
We thank everyone who contributed and hope we had a little fun in the process. The seat inscriptions will serve as a reminder to the current athletes about the rich history of this rowing program and how their experiences will serve them for the rest of their lives like they have done for all of us.
