It was named after the Monster from the Blue Lagoon movie\, and was initially a one day regatta. HOTL has now grown to a two day regatta\, hosting junior\, collegiate\, open\, and master teams. This is a gently curving course through the Foster City Lagoon\, which is carefully buoyed every year. It is free of currents and powerboats\, making this regatta an interesting and competitive race. \n[/fusion_text][fusion_text columns=”” column_min_width=”” column_spacing=”” rule_style=”default” rule_size=”” rule_color=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility\,medium-visibility\,large-visibility” class=”” id=””] \nHere are the lineups and schedule for the event (air quality permitting): \nhttps://herenow.com/results/#/races/20578/heats \n[/fusion_text][fusion_text columns=”” column_min_width=”” column_spacing=”” rule_style=”default” rule_size=”” rule_color=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility\,medium-visibility\,large-visibility” class=”” id=””] \nTeam Itinerary HOTL\n\nFriday 11/9/18 \n2:15pm – Meet at UCI Boathouse (600 Shellmaker Road\, Newport Beach\, CA\, 92660)\n2:30pm – Depart Newport Beach to Foster City (#1 30 minute rest stop) (#2 1 hour dinner stop “proctored exams”)\n10:30pm – Arrive at Hilton Garden Inn\, San Mateo\, 2000 Bridgepointe Circle\, San Mateo\, CA\, 94404.\n11:00pm – Lights out\n\nSaturday 11/10/18\n6:00am Coaches / Coxswains depart for Foster City Lagoon\n6:45am Athletes depart for Foster City Lagoon\n(Racing gear under cold weather gear. – sunglasses\, hat)\n7:00am Unload trailer & begin rigging 8+’s & oars to designated boats\n7:30am Coaches / Coxswains meeting\n8:20am 8+’s Launch & begin pre-race warmup\n\n9:00am Men’s Open 8+\nLoyal Founders / Red Smoothie 2 Plain Edge Entry A: Madeline Sands\, James Stupin\, Anand Lijo\, Joshua Andersen\, Bruce Lee\, Reese Tobaben\, Connor Basile\, Brooks Kinney\, Denver Cohen\nHenry T Nicholas III / Green / Red Skinny Fat 2 Smoothies Entry B: Carlos Dominguez\, Ezra Monroy\, Bin Zhang\, Colin Petree\, Kevin Tarhan\, Tyler Williams\, Patrick Winters McCarthy\, Robert Wearn\, Ryan Wong\n\n9:00am Men’s Novice 8+ \nRoger James / White Big Blade Entry A: Paige Newport\, Jaesup Kim\, Alexander Galkin\, Andrew Self\, Travis Gillette\, Christian Barrett\, Aydin Yolar\, Ariya Olaee\, Emil Sabri\n\nJan / Green Ultralite Fat 2 Smoothies Entry B: Khai Nguyen\, Holman Lau\, Kevin Chen\, Arya Blourchian\, Joshua Russell\, Jack Aubele\, Jabra Baddour\, Matthew Kaiser\, Kyle Lin\n\n10:00am De-Rig 8+’s and begin loading trailer\n10:00am Men’s 4+’s Launch (Pairs > 4’s + Bursts)\n\n10:30am Men’s Collegiate 4+\nBrawler / Green / Red Skinny Fat 2 Smoothies +1 Clam Entry A: Carlos Dominguez\, Reese Tobaben\, Denver Cohen\, Brooks Kinney\, Connor Basile\nDylan Ayres / Green / Red Skinny Fat 2 Smoothies +1 Clam Entry B: Anabelle Cheng\, Colin Petree\, Kevin Tarhan\, Ryan Wong\, Patrick Winters McCarthy\n \n11:00am Novice Van’s Depart for San Fransisco\n11:10am De-Rig 4+’s and continue loading trailer\n11:25am Men’s Pair Launch\n11:30am Men’s 2x Launch\n\n11:45am Men’s Collegiate 2-\n\nManatee / Green / Red Skinny Fat 2 Smoothies +2 Clam Entry A: Joshua Andersen\, Denver Cohen\n\n12:00pm Men’s 2x\nBrawler / Green / Red Skinny Fat 2 Smoothies +1 Clam Entry A: Robert Wearn\, Connor Basile\n \n12:30pm Finish Loading Trailer\n1:00pm Varsity Departs for Newport Beach\, CA\n2:00pm Novice Depart for Newport Beach\, CA\n\n[/fusion_text][fusion_separator style_type=”shadow” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility\,medium-visibility\,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”50″ bottom_margin=”50″ border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_button link=”https://ucirowing.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/HOTL2018_RegattaPacket.pdf” text_transform=”” title=”” target=”_blank” link_attributes=”” alignment=”center” modal=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility\,medium-visibility\,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” color=”default” button_gradient_top_color=”” button_gradient_bottom_color=”” button_gradient_top_color_hover=”” button_gradient_bottom_color_hover=”” accent_color=”” accent_hover_color=”” type=”” bevel_color=”” border_width=”” size=”” stretch=”no” shape=”” icon=”fa-info-circle fas” icon_position=”left” icon_divider=”yes” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=””]Regatta Packet PDF[/fusion_button][fusion_separator style_type=”shadow” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility\,medium-visibility\,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”50″ bottom_margin=”50″ border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_text columns=”” column_min_width=”” column_spacing=”” rule_style=”default” rule_size=”” rule_color=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility\,medium-visibility\,large-visibility” class=”” id=””] \nDIRECTIONS:\n650 Shell Blvd.\, Foster City\, CA \nFrom 101: Head east on Hwy. #92.
